Platform Launch
July 1 was launch day for Phase 1 of pastoral planning and the digital platform for the Pastoral Planning Pathway!

The platform is where Family leaders (clergy, staff and parishioners) will access guidance, resources, support, and network with others throughout Beacons of Light.

The platform is organized in a two-fold manner:

  • By principle (Eucharist, Church, Leadership, Stewardship, Evangelization, Love in Action), Administration, and/or Communications
  • By phase – phase 1 is live now; subsequent phases will be activated in the coming months.

The landing pages for the six guiding principles are open to the public and include brief overview videos that bring the vision for the principle to life.

Access to the Platform

Pastors have been given access to the platform and have been invited to submit the names of other clergy and key staff who will be responsible for pastoral planning in the Family of Parishes.

In the coming weeks, parishioner leaders (pastoral council, finance council, commission and committee chairs, ministry leaders, and others) will also be given access to the pages, videos, documents, discussion forums, and other resources they'll need.  Stay tuned!

Later this fall, anyone will be able to register as a user and access many of the resources to stay informed about Beacons of Light!

Family of Parishes
Leadership Team

A Family of Parishes is best served when the pastor and key collaborators (clergy and lay staff) work together as a team. While there are many groups of people who participate in leadership and governance of a parish or Family of Parishes (e.g. Pastoral Council, full staff, Finance Council, commissions, etc.), the leadership team has the greatest potential to effectively assist the pastor in implementing the mission of the parish.

This model has already been employed by many parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Cincinnati subsequent to the
Amazing Parish conference of 2019. The challenge now will be to take this successful model and apply it to a Family of Parishes, not simply a single parish.

WORKSHOP FOR
PARISH COMMUNICATORS

Thurs, Aug 25, Dayton
(St. John the Baptist, Tipp City)

Thurs, Sept 1, Cincinnati
(St. John the Evangelist, West Chester)

The formation of Families of Parishes will undoubtedly create unique communication challenges and opportunities. To begin to address these, the archdiocesan Center for Parish Vitality and Office of Communications will be holding a one-day workshop for those Family staff members responsible for parish communication – including bulletin editors, website managers, social media coordinators, and email and newsletter editors.

The workshop will be held twice, 9am-3pm each day, with the content being the same on both dates.

So, if you have some or all of the communication duties described above, please block one of these dates on your calendar.
