BRIDGING CONNECTION

FROM THE OFFICE DIRECTOR

This spring and summer have been especially grace-filled as several congregations held chapters and elected new leadership. For some the novelty may be in their re-election. It is a beautiful witness to generous love by those who accept the call to be at the service of authority. I hold you all in my prayers. You can see pictures below.

Another grace to celebrate is the addition of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to the Archdiocese. God-willing, they will be here in the fall to serve at St. Cecilia Parish.

Liturgically, we are in the season of ordinary time. I learned in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd that it is also referred to as "the season for growing." I thank God for the seeds he has planted in the garden of my soul, in each of you and in this world around us. May we continue to nurture new life as we move through each season,

Maria

Giving Voice sisters featured in new book

Susan Flansburg has a newly published book that features Giving Voice sisters.

From the Amazon description:
Ana was crazy in love. Julia was an atheist. Ji chose the wrong religious institute but found her way, eventually, to what is home for her. Xiomara was a successful fashion designer who wouldn't have joined a religious order if she'd had to accept a habit. Colleen required one.

These and other women share their vocation stories in Feels Like Home: A Catholic Woman’s Guide to Religious Life in the U.S. A “one-stop shop” of critical but hard-to-find insights and information, it promises to help women answer the call to find their home within the Church.
