We continue to add new people to the CNE team! This week I am happy to announce that we have hired Mario Amaya as our new Associate Director for Hispanic Youth Evangelization.
This is a new position for the Hispanic Evangelization Team. One of the consistent areas of need that the Hispanic community shares with us is the need to evangelize their young people. While the majority of Hispanics are largely Catholic, recent studies are showing a mass exodus of Hispanics from the Catholic faith, particularly Hispanic young people.
We are excited to move into this new mission territory!

We are excited to welcome Mario Amaya to our Hispanic Evangelization Team! Mario will be supporting the various Hispanic parishes with their youth and adult programs, as well as providing training, missions, retreats, and pastoral accompaniment.
Mario comes to Cincinnati from Colombia, South America, where he was a lawyer with a bachelor's degree in theology, as well as a specialization in Canon Matrimonial Law. He has been a youth group coordinator in two parishes, and has participated in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for more than 12 years as the formation coordinator, and has also participated in various youth leadership processes in his diocese, country and internationally.
Mario has been married to Nohora for 5 years and is the eldest of five siblings. He likes to participate and watch sports, and visits various stadiums to attend games. Mario also enjoys traveling and reading books.

Thank you to everyone who attended our quarterly gathering for RCIA Coordinators on June 20. We decided to make this one virtual to accommodate people who aren’t in the office as regularly over the summer. We discussed how the PED Diagram can inform and renew each stage of the RCIA Process. Register Now for Light the Match 2023
Light the Match is a two-day workshop for theological and pedagogical formation for all parish evangelists.
These two days will include breakout sessions for new and veteran youth evangelists, adult evangelists, and pastoral associates. A light breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Optional dinner and overnight accommodations are also available.
Details for the workshops:
Day 1: Tuesday, August 1; 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Day 2: Wednesday, August 2; 10:00 a.m. - 4:30
p.m.
Cost: $20/day or $30 for both days; $55 for overnight accommodations
Location: Dayton Metro Library Northwest Branch
