God's power is not selfish

On Easter Sunday, the power of God is made manifest. It is a power that marked the beginning of time and stretches into eternity. It is a power that gave us life from nothingness. And a power that even death cannot withstand.

Unlike the domination we often witness in mankind, God’s power is not selfish. All that He is, He offers to us. From the beginning of the world until the final coming of the kingdom, God has used His power for the purpose of our happiness.

Although God’s power knows no limits, it is a power that we can reject. The choice is ours. God’s inexplicable love keeps our freedom intact. For we cannot truly embrace God’s love unless we have the ability to reject it.

This Easter, I invite you to open your heart to the gifts that God longs to give you. We are not enough on our own, but with His strength, even death cannot frustrate His plans for our prosperity.

The whole history of God’s involvement with us is one of wonder, of power. And it is not over.

May the loving power of God be at work in your heart and home this Easter, and may the life of the Risen Christ strengthen you today and every day.
