May 7, 2026 - Issue 113
On April 29, 2026, the Memorial of St. Catherine of Siena, we finalized a new archdiocesan partnership with the Catherine of Siena Institute! This partnership will allow the CNE to make charism discernment more accessible to all the parishes of the archdiocese. Our hope is that parish staff and volunteer leaders will utilize this partnership both to better understand their own unique spiritual giftedness and to equip their parishioners to embrace lives of fruitful discipleship.

See the announcement and flyer below for more information, and please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help as you discern what this means for your parish!

Bring Charism Discernment
to Your Parish!

Thanks to a new partnership with the Catherine of Siena Institute, the Called & Gifted charism discernment process, as well as Team Training, Ananias Training, and resources from the CSI store are available at a discount for all parishes of the archdiocese! You, ideally along with a team of others, will need to complete Called & Gifted and Team Training before you can provide the charism discernment process to your parishioners. A package including both is available. If you have questions or you’re ready to get started, contact Nicholas Hardesty (nhardesty@catholicaoc.org).

Clergy Webinar: The NFP Path to Stronger Marriages
Thursday, May 21 | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Don’t miss this opportunity to join a free live online webinar designed specifically for clergy, seminarians, and parish staff.

Every Catholic couple desires a lasting, faithful marriage. Both scientific research and years of pastoral experience show that Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a powerful tool that strengthens communication, deepens intimacy, and supports couples for the long term.

Couple to Couple League’s MyParishNFP invites you to a live webinar featuring trusted Catholic voices, including our very own Dc. David Ulmer to share how NFP can transform marriages in your parish.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the St. Dominic Savio Internship Program, a new initiative designed to provide university students with valuable hands-on ministry experience in local parishes. This program offers a unique opportunity for students of any academic background to receive mentorship from parish evangelists, experience the day-to-day realities of parish work, and discern their vocational call to ministry. We are currently accepting applications for the program’s first year and encourage you to share this opportunity with students who may be interested, open to growth, and eager to explore a potential call to parish ministry.
