August 8, 2025 - Issue 98
Dear Friends,

Pope Leo XIV gave a beautiful homily on the occasion of the Jubilee of Families on June 1, 2025. He highlighted several married couples where both spouses had been canonized, and talked about the power of holy marriages: "today’s world needs the marriage covenant in order to know and accept God’s love and to defeat, thanks to its unifying and reconciling power, the forces that break down relationships and societies."

As parishes continue to implement the Marriage Catechumenate, we invite all parish evangelists, marriage and family evangelists, marriage apostolate leaders, mentor couples, priests, deacons, and NFP instructors to our annual Marriage & Family In-Service on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. This half-day workshop will take place starting at 12;00 pm at St. Mary of the Assumption, Springboro. This year’s topic is "Creating Contexts for Connectivity and Community in Marriage and Family Evangelization." Guest speakers include Brad Bursa, Ph.D., Fr. Alex McCullough, and Josh Englefield, DSW, LISW-S. Resources and lunch will be provided, and the cost is $10 per person.

Please register online and reach out to the Marriage & Family Evangelization team with any questions.

Sincerely in Christ,

Adriana Vásquez

Together Sunday
Sunday, September 14

Together Sunday is more than a moment—it’s the beginning of a movement toward becoming a more welcoming and hospitable community. Every Sunday, we gather to worship Christ in the Eucharist—and every Sunday is an opportunity to open our doors and our hearts more widely.

With Together Sunday, parishes are invited to take a fresh look at how they welcome people: not only through smiles and greetings, but through a culture that sees, accompanies, and invites. With resources for formation and tools for action, this initiative empowers parish communities to strengthen relationships, foster connection, and become places of belonging for all who enter.

Safe Haven Sunday
Sunday, August 10th 2025

Safe Haven Sunday is a weekend set aside within the liturgical calendar by dioceses and parishes to directly address the societal harms of pornography. It is Inspired by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) formal statement, Create in Me a Clean Heart: A Pastoral Response to Pornography.

Safe Haven Sunday is an archdiocesan-wide initiative on the weekend of August 10, near the Feast of St. Philomena, "Champion of Chastity". For more information, click the button below:
