NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
This month, the CNE welcomed Audrey Melton to our ranks. Audrey joins the Parish Support Team as the new Associate Director for Youth Evangelization.

Audrey comes to us with experience in college campus ministry at the University of Dayton, as program staff at the Damascus Catholic Mission Campus (CYSC), and most recently as a Youth Retreats Team member at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford.

Audrey is eager to connect with Youth Evangelists throughout the Archdiocese and to support you in forming young missionary disciples!

The CNE Welcomes Audrey Melton!
Audrey Melton (amelton@catholicaoc.org)
Associate Director for Youth Evangelization

We are excited to welcome Audrey Melton to our Parish Support Team! Audrey will be coaching, forming, and accompanying parish evangelists so they can best minister to their youth and incorporate the Process of Evangelization and Discipleship into their ministry.

Audrey is originally from Rock Falls, IL. She was most recently a member of the Youth Ministry team at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford. Last year she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton with a BA in Religious Studies & Theology and a minor in Theatre, Dance, & Performance Technology. During her college years, she worked as a liturgy intern and music minister in Campus Ministry, and as a summer missionary at Damascus Catholic Mission Campus.

Audrey loves music and the arts. She is a singer and a bassist, always finding opportunities to lead and participate in worship. She finds a lot of life in the outdoors, particularly around water, and has a deep love for liturgy, especially the Eucharist.

Parish Evangelists are encouraged to contact Audrey to set up one-on-one coaching and training, to get information about youth programs, materials, and events; or just to communicate any needs, questions, or concerns you might have.

Welcome, Audrey!
Called & Gifted Updates
Discount for Fruitful Discipleship
Since the conclusion of our Called & Gifted workshops on April 17 & 18, many of you have asked about a discounted price for Fruitful Discipleship, Sherry Weddell’s book on the charisms. If your parish orders at least 10 copies, then the discounted price is $13.50/book + shipping. If you order 60 or more copies, then the price is $12.50/book + shipping. This is the price for a parish order, not for individuals.

To take advantage of this discount, email your order to Istvan Kovacs at catholicaoc@siena.org by May 31st. In your email, please include:

  • how many books you want,
  • the name of the parish,
  • the name of the person who should receive the shipment (for example: St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, c/o Holly Moran),
  • the shipping address, and
  • the name and email address of the person who should receive the invoice.

He will email you an invoice that your business manager can use to pay for the order. This book would be a great way for your parish staff or your parishioners to continue their learning of the charisms. Contact Nicholas Hardesty (nhardesty@catholicaoc.org) if you have any questions.

Next Opportunity for In-Person Charism Interviews
Our team of interviewers will be at the Transfiguration Center in West Milton, OH on Wednesday, May 17th to provide our final opportunity for in-person charism interviews. There are still time slots available. Go here to sign up for one: Center for the New Evangelization: In-Person Charism Interview (signupgenius.com).

You can also schedule a virtual charism interview for $30 by emailing catholicaoc@siena.org by May 31st.

The Archdiocese will be offering a training on June 5th, at St. John the Evangelist Pavilion in West Chester from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. There will be 1.5 hours of pre-work required for the training.
