We are always given grace to withstand the particular trials and temptations of the day. Where sin increases, grace abounds all the more. (Rom. 5:20) We have two opportunities coming up in August to equip families in the fight. On the weekend of August 10, Safe Haven Sunday is an effort to highlight not just the societal harms of pornography but the resources available to parishes, families, and individuals to be free. Homes can and should be safe havens for families to nurture faith and chastity.
On August 16, we have a workshop for fathers and sons (ages 12-14) to spend time together and learn about God’s amazing plan for growing into a man. This workshop will include Mass, dynamic catechesis, great talks, food, fun challenges, and some time & tools to talk with each other about this time of life. It’s a great investment of time for a Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 noon at St. Mary of the Assumption in Springboro.

Father & Son Workshop
Saturday, August 16th
St. Mary of the Assumption Church
Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Marriage and Family Office, this workshop is geared toward fathers and their sons (ages 12-14) to spend time together learning about God’s amazing plan for masculinity. Starting with Holy Mass at 8:00 am, this workshop will include presentations on how God made it awesome to be a boy, male strengths, the power and grace of puberty, and how to respond and navigate our culture today.

Safe Haven Sunday

Safe Haven Sunday is a weekend set aside within the liturgical calendar by dioceses and parishes to directly address the societal harms of pornography. It is Inspired by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) formal statement, Create in Me a Clean Heart: A Pastoral Response to Pornography.
Safe Haven Sunday is an archdiocesan-wide initiative on the weekend of August 10, near the Feast of St. Philomena, "Champion of Chastity". For more information, click the button below:

Young adults are experiencing a "loneliness epidemic" and the only way to combat this is through community. Encourage the young adults in your parish to join the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Young Adult Community Network to form connections with others and grow in their faith. Jubilee Wedding Anniversary Masses with Archbishop Casey
Married couples celebrating a jubilee wedding anniversary (25th, 50th, 55th, 60th, etc.) are invited to Mass with Archbishop Casey on September 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Church of the Incarnation in Dayton or September 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains in Cincinnati.
Family members are welcome to attend as well, and a special blessing will be offered to the jubilarian couples. REGISTER to attend one of the Masses by August 25, 2025.
