Letter from Archbishop Schnurr Released Today!
Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr released a letter to the faithful today about the Beacons of Light open comment period, which will take place October 1-20. During that time the draft of the Families of Parishes will be viewable for public comment at the Beacons of Light website.

In-part, Archbishop Schnurr writes in the letter, “Your thoughtful feedback at this stage of the planning process would be most valuable... Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the information on the website, then prayerfully provide your input on this important step which will shape the future of our archdiocese.”

Archbishop Interview on Beacons of Light
Archbishop Schnurr recently sat down with Anna Mitchell of Sacred Heart Catholic Radio to talk about Beacons of Light. Hopefully, this 20-minute interview will help answer some questions and concerns you may have about this pastoral planning process.

You Asked... We Answered
When will the Families of Parishes be finalized and announced?

After the conclusion of the public comment period on October 20, all of the input provided by priests, deacons, school leaders and lay faithful will be considered in order to finalize the Families of Parishes. The recommended Families of Parishes will then be presented to Archbishop Schnurr by those who have guided the Beacons of Light process. The final recommendation will be the product of more than eight months of consultative work and numerous iterations. Upon the approval of the Families of Parishes the plan will be announced. The announcement is expected by the end of November.

Pray With Us
Archbishop Schnurr has called all of us to pray for the success of Beacons of Light. In addition to the ways in which your parish community will be praying together, you can join Catholics throughout the archdiocese in prayer over the coming weeks by joining in a novena from September 22-30, leading up to the publication of the draft Families of Parishes. Follow the novena and find the daily prayers on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Facebook page.
